Lambis Pavlou

Born in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1996 he started piano lessons at the age of four with Anna Forari and
continued in the class of Pitsa Spiridaki in the Arte Music Academy. He has won prizes in national
and international piano competitions such as “Evangellia Tziarri” in Cyprus, “Filonas” in Greece and
“Pietro Argento” in Italy. He also represented Cyprus at the 12th Steinway International Festival in
Hamburg and in the Eurovision Young Musicians Competition in Vienna. He attended masterclasses
with pianists such as Hortense Cartier-Bresson, Martino Tirimo, Cyprien Katsaris, Victor Rosenbaum
and others. In November 2014 he represented Cyprus to the 3rd International competition of Societa
Umanitaria and he gained the honor prize to perform a personal recital in Milan, which he
accomplished with great success in November 2016. He was praised for his virtuosic performances,
which are distinguished for their temperament and enthusiasm. His public appearances, apart from
competitions, include recitals and concerts in Cyprus, Italy, Germany and Finland. For his artistic
course it is worth mentioning his appearance as a soloist with the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra
in 2013, under the direction of Giorgos Kountouris, performing the Rhapsody in Blue by Gershwin. The
same year he had another appearance with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of
Alkis Baltas, performing with his sister Poulenc’s concerto for 2 pianos. In addition to piano, he plays
the french horn and he was the principal horn player of the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra. Now
he is studying in Sibelius Academy in the class of Prof. Tuija Hakkila.
