Nils Hansson was born in 1998 in Stockholm, Sweden. He grew up in a musical environment, as his
parents are both violinists. His piano studies started at the age of seven for Kira Khalfine and two
years later continued with Victoria Power. Since 2017, he has been studying in the Sibelius Academy,
under the guidance of Professor Tuija Hakkila, and now after finishing his Bachelor’s degree, as well
with Professor Ilmo Ranta. Nils has received scholarships and prizes for his piano playing such as
”Mai Von Rosen” -scholarship and 1st prize in Stockholm International Music Competition. He has
performed in Finland, China, Italy and Russia. In his home country Sweden, Nils has had concerts in
Berwaldhallen, The Royal Palace, The Swedish Parliament and participated in various piano festivals.
Previous season 2020, he also performed in the Stockholm Concert hall and in June 2019, he had a
successful solo recital tour in Southern China. Currently, he’s deepening his knowledge in the classical
period by studying fortepiano as a side instrument.
