Ruslan Strogiy

Ruslan Strogiy was born in 1992 in Narva, Estonia. From an early age, he began to show musical
ability, picking up on heard classical music on the piano. In 2001 Ruslan got the second prize at IV
Estonian Young Pianists Competition in Tartu, Estonia. In 2005 Ruslan entered Tallinn Music High
School (teacher M.Pakri) Estonia. During this time, he won some of the prestigious music
competitions such as the VI International Competition of Young Pianists from the Baltic Sea countries
dedicated to the work of F.Chopin, 2006, Narva, Estonia (1st prize), International Franz Liszt
Competition for Young Pianists 2009 in Weimar, Germany (2nd prize). Moreover, Ruslan has taken
part in master classes of N.Seregina (professor of Saint-Petersburg conservatory), L.Kolar (Estonian
pianist and composer), master classes in Liechtenstein and Parnu (Estonia) of Arbo Valdma. In 2013,
Ruslan participated in the tour with ’The St Petersburg Cello Ensemble’ in Iceland. In the same year, he
played Concerto №1 of P. Tchaikovsky with the symphony orchestra named after Algirdas Paulavičius,
Saint-Petersburg, Russia in the Mariinsky theatre Concert Hall. Since 2016, Ruslan studies at The
Sibelius Academy (Helsinki) in the class of Professor Erik T. Tawaststjerna, Kirill Kozlovsky, and Matti
Raekallio.
